This policy covers the Yardro website and the Yardro service: the private Yardro each company gets at its own address. It's written to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version

  • Your company's data lives in your own private database, inside your own Yardro. We don't sell it, rent it, or use it for advertising.
  • This site sets one analytics cookie, and only if you accept it. Decline and nothing loads.
  • Ask, and we'll export or delete what we hold about you. Email hello@yardro.com.

What we collect

Signup and contact submissions. Name, email, phone, company, and the answers on the form: crew size, the plan you picked, your message. If you choose to answer the two optional questions after you sign up, we also collect the services you offer and the software you run on today. If you skip them, we collect neither. We also record the IP address a submission came from, to rate-limit the forms and spot abuse.

Your company's data in your Yardro. Once your Yardro is set up, everything you put in it (clients, estimates, jobs, invoices, time entries, contracts, files) lives in its own private database with its own encryption key. It is your data. We look at it only to operate the service, to fix a problem you asked us to fix, or when the law requires.

One analytics cookie. With your consent, Google Analytics sets a cookie on this site so we can see which pages help visitors and which don't. IP addresses are anonymized. No advertising features are switched on, no audiences are built, and nothing is shared with ad networks. If you decline, the analytics script never loads and no cookie is set. Your Yardro at your own address does not carry this cookie at all.

Access logs. Like every website, ours keeps short-lived records of visits (IP address, browser, page, time) for security and troubleshooting.

Payment details. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. Card numbers never pass through our systems; we keep only what Stripe sends back: the card brand, its last four digits, and your billing status.

How we use it

  • To reply to you, set up and run your Yardro, bill your subscription, and send operational email: your Yardro link, receipts, service notices.
  • To keep the service safe: rate-limiting, abuse prevention, debugging.
  • To improve this site, using the aggregate analytics described above.
  • We don't sell personal data, we don't buy lists, and we don't send marketing you didn't ask for.

Who else touches it

A small set of providers helps us run Yardro. Each handles only what its job needs:

  • Hetzner: the hosting company whose computers this site and every customer's Yardro run on.
  • Stripe: subscription payments.
  • Resend: sends our email, such as your Yardro link, contact-form notifications and receipts.
  • Google: analytics, only once you've accepted the cookie.

Other services you connect from inside your Yardro, such as QuickBooks Online, exchange data at your direction and under that provider's terms.

Beyond that, we disclose data only if the law requires it or to protect the safety of people or the service. There is no other sharing.

How long we keep it

  • Signup and contact submissions: as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of the conversation. Deleted on request.
  • Your Yardro and its database: for the life of your subscription. When you cancel, it stays available for 30 days so you can take a final export; then it is deleted, encryption key included. Ask and we'll delete it sooner.
  • The analytics cookie: Google's cookie lasts up to two years unless you clear it. Withdraw consent any time by clearing this site's cookies; you'll be asked again.
  • Access logs: rotated on a short schedule, typically within a month.

Your choices

  • Export. From inside your Yardro, any time, no fee, or email us and we'll send the full export.
  • Delete. Email hello@yardro.com and we'll delete your submissions and, if you're a customer, your Yardro and its database.
  • Correct. Tell us what's wrong and we'll fix it.
  • Cookies. Decline on the banner, or clear this site's cookies to be asked again.
  • Email. Every operational email comes from a real address you can reply to.

How we protect it

HTTPS everywhere. Each company has its own private database with its own secret key, never rows in a database another company shares. Passwords are stored as salted scrypt hashes, never in a form we could read back. Access to the computers we host on is limited to the people who run the service.

No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your data, we'll tell you promptly and plainly.

Children

Yardro is a business tool. It isn't directed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. For material changes, customers get an email first.
